Frequently asked questions
What is Kynd?
Kynd helps you start. Pick your energy color, get what is in your head out by voice or text, and Kynd surfaces the smallest physical next step you can actually begin. Three focus modes, gentle hyperfocus check-ins, ambient sound, and routines round it out. No streaks, no shame.
What does Kynd Premium include, and what does it cost?
Free covers the energy picker, quick capture by voice or text, the smallest next step, all three focus modes, hyperfocus check-ins, routines, the inbox, the evening shutdown, one ambient soundscape, the first CBT module, widgets, and the Apple Watch companion. Premium adds the full brain dump, Break it down, the Focus shield, audio coworking rooms and scheduled Flocks with 500 minutes a month, the other nine CBT for ADHD modules, recurring tasks, per-task timers, guided routine run-throughs, four more soundscapes, Apple Health energy suggestions, calendar context on Today, iCloud sync, and Family Sharing. Break it down needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, and the menu item is hidden on hardware that does not. Pricing is $4.99 USD per month or $29.99 USD per year, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan for new subscribers. Premium auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
How do I manage, cancel, or restore Premium?
Premium is billed through Apple. To view, change, or cancel:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
- Select Kynd to change plan or cancel.
On a new device, open Kynd's Settings and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account that bought Premium.
How do the focus modes work?
There are three: a 2 minute Sprint for low-energy days, a 25 minute Pomo for normal stretches, and an open-ended Flow for deep work. A Time-Timer style red disk shows the work draining as you go, and Live Activities keep the timer on your Lock Screen.
What are hyperfocus check-ins?
A gentle sheet appears at 90 minutes so you can save and take five, or keep going. In Flow mode, 25 minute pulses help you avoid losing hours by accident. Those two intervals are fixed. The separate haptic time checkpoints during a session are the part you can adjust in Settings.
Where is my data stored?
Your tasks, captures, routines and focus history live on your device, and sync only
through your own iCloud account if you turn that on. We never see them and we never sell or
share your content.
Two features do reach the internet. Voice capture uses Apple's speech recognition, which
runs on the device when your iPhone and language support it and otherwise goes to Apple to
be transcribed. Audio coworking rooms run on a real-time audio service, so joining a room
sends your chosen display name, an anonymous ID, and your live microphone audio for the
length of the session. Our own server issues the room pass and counts your monthly minutes,
nothing more. If you never open a room, none of that happens. On iOS 27 there is also an
optional setting that sends Break it down and brain dump sorting to Apple's Private Cloud
Compute instead of the device, which is off unless you turn it on. See the
Privacy Policy
for the full breakdown.
