Binpeek shows you what is inside closed storage bins by pointing your iPhone at their labels. Built and published by JC Mobile App Studio LLC.
Frequently asked questions
Adding a bin.
Open the lid, point the camera at what is inside, and tap the white shutter on the Peek screen. The new bin opens with that photo and the contents already listed. Fix anything, add where it lives, and tap Add bin. The plus button adds a bin from a photo in your library.
Changing a bin's photo or deleting a bin.
Open the bin and tap the share button in the top corner: Retake photo, Choose photo, or Delete bin. Tap the photo itself to see it full screen and pinch to zoom.
The camera does not caption my bin.
Peek reads the printed Binpeek label or any text written on the bin. Make sure the label is facing the camera, lit, and that the bin exists in your list with that number. Handwritten text must be added under "Also written on it" in the bin so Binpeek knows which bin it means.
The photo did not list the contents.
Recognition uses Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. If it is turned off or still downloading, you can type or dictate the contents instead. Long-press any chip to fix a name or count.
Printing labels.
Settings, then Print label sheet. Ten labels per Letter or A4 page. Any sticker paper works, and plain paper with tape works too. Labels carry only the bin number, never its contents.
NFC stickers: what they are and where to get them.
An NFC tag is a thin sticker with a tiny chip and no battery. Write a bin onto one, stick it on the bin, and touching the top of your iPhone to it opens that bin, even from the lock screen. They are optional; the printed QR label already works with the camera.
To buy them, search for "NTAG213 NFC stickers". They come in packs online and in electronics shops. NTAG215 and NTAG216 also work. For metal bins or shelves, get tags labeled "on-metal" or "anti-metal", because ordinary tags do not work stuck directly on metal.
To write one, open the bin, tap the share button at the top, choose Write NFC tag, and hold the top edge of the iPhone flat against the sticker. Any iPhone that runs Binpeek can write tags. iPad has no NFC, so tags are written from an iPhone.
Sharing with my household.
Settings, then Share with household. Choose whether the person can add and edit or only look, then tap Make an invite code. Give them the six-character code. They open Binpeek, go to Settings, Share with household, and type it under Join a household. Each code is for one person, works once, and expires in 24 hours.
On the same screen you can change what any member can do, remove them, or cancel a code nobody has used. A member can leave from the same place. Sharing uses iCloud, so sync must be on, and each person uses their own Apple Account. Binpeek never asks for names, emails, or phone numbers.
Sync, and restoring from iCloud.
Settings, iCloud. Sync with iCloud can be turned off and on at any time. Restore from iCloud replaces the bins on this device with the copy in iCloud, useful if one device looks out of date.
iPad and iPhone Duo.
On iPad and on an unfolded iPhone Duo, the shelf sits in a sidebar beside the camera. Fold the Duo like a book and the shelf and bin become two pages. Stand it in tabletop and the camera moves to the upright half with the shelf on the flat half by your hands.
Español.
Binpeek is fully available in Spanish. It follows your iPhone's language setting.
Restoring my purchase.
Settings, then Restore purchase. Binpeek Unlimited is tied to your Apple Account and supports Family Sharing.
